Weekly Workouts Roundup: a Sneakers Giveaway!

I feel like the weeks are whittling away into the year and it's getting closer and closer to time to train in the Florida summer - slow down 2013!

Join in the Roundup with Meghan, Genna, and I! Remember that you can LINKUP anytime this week, not necessarily today!

Week of 1/28/13

Monday/Wednesday: Crossfit - I'm thinking I'm really digging this crosstraining! I'm getting better with my 50 burpees (100 a week is a ton!) a class and also at my form little by little. I enjoy getting a quick, intense workout in that is challenging while it's also nice to go and cheer on my classmates!

Runs/Speedwork: My breathing feels AWESOME! I'm not totally worried about going faster, but feel that I naturally am. I'm not gasping and think that the regimen I'm on is finally kicking in so that I'm not feeling a tightness in my chest when I pick up the pace. I particularly felt this when I did speedwork Thursday and was about 7 seconds an 800 faster than usual. Hubs also says I'm sleeping much more sound. Take that Asthma!

We also had a BLAST yesterday at the WARRIOR DASH! Recap coming this week!

Today I had a lovely run on Davis Island with P-Funk and Meghan before we dived into breakfast, gotta love new routes and great company! (Meghan saw I was doing my long run today vs Saturday due to our race and offered to join, yay! P did her recovery with us after she also raced the Best Damn Race 10k with Meghan yesterday.)

And this week I have an opportunity to GIVEAWAY a pair of Brooks Pure Connects!

That's right, I get to do a Giveaway that includes the brand that I love oh so much!

The Brooks Pure Connects (phase 1) were awarded "Best Debut" shoe from Runner's World in 2012 as they "strike a balance between barefoot-inspired minimalism and cushioning-required training. It has a lightweight, barely there feel yet is substantive enough to handle long tempo runs."
These Neutral runners, the neutral version in the Pure Project line of my Pure Cadence sneaks, also have the split forefoot and wider toe box along with mesh material to give the foot more of a 'minimalist' feel without being a 'minimalist' shoe.

(These are Women's Size 10 also - thanks to Larisa for the opportunity to give these away!)

  25. Must have shoe feature is something that is cute yet comfortable, I know I know, that's cliche but it's true. I don't want ugly running shoes but since I run all the time they have to be comfortable!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'd like to win these for my sister. She is having her first baby next month and is eager to get back to running.

  27. I like to have a shoe with maximum cushioning with the least amount of weight. Looks don't matter, I would rather have an uglier shoe so that I only wear it for running. This is awesome, I am a size 10!!!

  28. I had Brooks before - right now I run in NB and/or Reeboks. But I miss the minimalist fit. I actually had these in that light blue color - that was all that Dicks Sporting Goods had. I would love a different color this time round!

  29. My must have is extra room in the front of my running shoes. I usually go up a size. :-) Runner up must have would be a pop of color!

  30. I must have a low heel to toe drop in my shoes.
