This weekend, there was not any racing going on for me, but that doesn't mean I miss out on expo fun!
I was able to volunteer at the Brooks Running Cavalcade to giveaway prizes like earbuds, bandanas, funky mustache keychains, and even SHOES to expo-goers! Ah, the gleam in the eyes of the winners ;)
FYI: Brooks is a major sponsor of the Rock n' Roll Marathon Series & makes awesome race shirts and merch galore for the event!
Outside of Tropicana Field in St. Pete where the expo was held and the race started also
Gait analysis on a bus?? Sure!
Jaeden even got some swag.
Look at those handlebars.
As we bring this weekend to a close once again, I give you another Motivational Monday installment! This week's Featured Sneakers belong to an awesome lady I know, Lisa, who blogs over at Run Fast Mama! She's a speedy runner who also loves Brooks & balances the fun of mommyhood with her active lifestyle!
Name: Lisa L.Blog: http://runfastmama.com
Yes she's a coast-to-coast RunDisney medal holder!
What is your favorite way to workout/exercise: Running is my true love. In 2011 I was running along and my mindset switched from asking myself how much longer do I have to run to how much longer can I run. Since then, I have completed 2 Full Marathons and 5 Half Marathons - including the Goofy Challenge.
What is your #1 cheat food: Whole Foods 365 Organic Potato Chips and some Pinot Grigio
What advise do you have for those starting on a fitness journey: Set small and easily obtainable goals to start with. Focus on setting up new habits one day at a time.
Dream destination race/location: Anything with RunDisney in front of it! Disney vacation plus coming home with some race bling is my perfect vacation!
Favorite inspirational fitness personality/trainer: Bart Yasso. I would love to get to travel to the race destinations that he is able to. All 7 continents, that is amazing!
Lisa & the man a.k.a. Bart Yasso
Workout apparel must have (+brand): Brooks. Clothing, footwear they have it all! I was lucky enough to Brooks send me a pair of the Pure Cadence 2 before they were released and I felt like a Rock STAR!
Motivational motto/quote: If you can dream it, you can do it. - Walt Disney

OMG J is hilarious with that mustache!! Great feature, LOVE Lisa! (And now I want to try to find some of those potato chips...)
ReplyDeleteHaha ain't he a stud?!
DeleteThanks! Those chips are the BOMB! We buy at least 6 at a time as everyone in the house loves them when we want a treat! Watch out though, I have had a bag disappear in a matter of minutes :) Enjoy!
DeleteThe mustache is awesome! And I love a good cheat with Pinot too! Or Plum Wine! Nom Nom Nom!
ReplyDeletehaha thanks!
DeleteHi Erin, ahh Plum Wine! They have that at a sushi place by my house and it is delish! When we were in China though, I ordered it and got three shrivled plums in some sauce. Not exactly what I wanted.
DeleteGreat to learn more about you Lisa! I hope to earn that coast to coast medal one day!!! Jaeden is soooo cute with that mustache! I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get it in the summer when I head to Disneyland! He's a stud eh? ;)

DeleteLove learning about the Featured Sneakers :)
ReplyDeleteI was supposed to run RnR St. Pete's but the hotel/flight wasn't in the budget. I ran it last year and really enjoyed it.
Thanks Natalie - definitely would be great if you came down here!
DeleteLisa and I have a love of Disney in common. Way to go to her for completing all of those Disney marathons. That is something to be proud of. :)
ReplyDeletePS- LOVED the pic of your dog and the mustache. Too cute.
She's definitely an inspiration! Jaeden says hi ;)
DeleteThanks! I will have to check out your blog too! I just did Goofy Challenge last month too and it was a blast, just wishing I wasen't sick so I could have met up with Kat! Oh well, hopefully at another RunDisney event this year!

ReplyDeleteHaha! Of course, thanks for inspiring others with your active goals!
DeleteIt was so fun to learn more about Lisa. She has got it going.
ReplyDeletethanks for stopping by!
DeleteI'm hoping to have that mindset switch one day. I run for fitness and have always thought about how amazing it would feel to complete a long race like a half marathon, but right now I don't know if I would truly enjoy training and running that far of a distance. Props to her though!
ReplyDeleteLove the mustache ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info on another amazing runner. I like her Disney bling and YES, Bart rocks.
ReplyDeleteAnytime!
DeleteJaeden's Brooks mustache is too cute! And I'm with Lisa on the Pinot Grigio--wine is good for you. ;)
ReplyDeleteHe's like a boss ;)
DeleteMy husband and I were supposed to run the Rock n Roll St. Pete...ended up not being able to make the trip :( We are really hoping to plan better and make it next year. Looks beautiful
ReplyDeleteLmk whenever I do come down!
