Another fun run was tackled last night & 2 guys were chicked in the process: success ;)
Kris is in for the smoothies
Of course I'd received a new outfit from Brooks and had to don it immediately too!
When a girl gets the opportunity to try out one of her favorite brands' other pieces of apparel, she can go a bit shop-happy.
I have shared Brooks haul photos BUT I haven't reviewed my favorite pieces,
shame on me!
Here's a small sample of my favorite Brooks finds -
I'll call these "The Essentials" (aside from shoes)

UL: Versatile Low Rise Short, UR: Glycerin short, Bottom: Infiniti sports bra
(tattoos not included with clothing purchase ;)
Versatile Low Rise Short:

These shorts sit perfectly on me! With the low rise waistline, with a thicker cinched ribbing, these suit those of us who are of the shorter persuasion and work well for both running and cross training. They have a built-in pair of 'bloomers' and have plenty of movement with leg room that isn't tight at all. These have a tad more of a slimmer fit than the Glycerin short, and are about $10 less in price (MSRP $30)
• Fit: Semi-fitted • 3½" inseam • Light woven polyester with wicking body
• Low-rise and slimmer fit • Outer pockets with contrast piping
• Wide comfort waistband • 360° of 3M™ Scotchlite™ retroreflectivity
Glycerin short:

I have to say that I love the Versatile short and the Glycerin short pretty much equally. They both sit perfectly on my 'vertically challenged' frame and have a lot of room for movement. With built in 'bloomers' you can use these for running or I even wear them for Crossfit. The main difference on the Glycerin short would be the waistline - it's not cinched and has a more relaxed feel while being stretchy. Also, there is a hidden pocket on the back right. (MSRP $40)
• Fit: Semi-fitted • 3½" inseam • Wide moisture-moving waistband
• Envelope-style back pocket • Soft inner liner
Infinity Sports bra:

source
This is my go-to sports bra from Brooks! Being a compression bra, it has the best support for 'my girls' when I run or do any sort of cross training. I like that the straps, in a racerback shape, in the back are adjustable as well. It fits well in all of my shirts and keeps it all in place - available in A/B or C/D for a more personalized feel! (MSRP $48)
• Fit: Fitted • Great support with adjustable straps
• Encapsulated compression bra • Contour cup shapes with increased modesty
• Mesh panels in key areas • Moisture-wicking elastic band
All three of these pieces are great for all kinds of workouts and with them being basic black (they all also come in a wide variety of colors) they go well with any color top or shoes - because fitness fashion is a MUST!
What are your requirements for "must have" workout apparel?? Comfort? Fit? Color? etc?
Do you enjoy chicking the boys?

OMGOSH I LOVE THE PURPLE.
ReplyDeleteI am purple.
Haha Carla you can't hide from me! I know your posts like the back of my hand! Xo
DeleteNew workout apparel is the best! And it's definitely my favorite kind of clothes shopping. :) My skin tone looks better in cool colors, so I gravitate toward blues, greens, and purples, although I recently bought a pair of neon Nike shorts. Hey, they were on sale! ;)
ReplyDeleteFun! Sales should not be passed up! :)
DeleteI love new workout clothing!! The purple is fun! I'm in to lime right now to match my new Polar gear :)
ReplyDeleteLimes are great, I have some ready for summer!
DeleteI love it all!!
ReplyDeleteI go for comfort and then color :) Nothing worse then getting chafed during a run..ugh.
Absolutely...and it should last!
DeleteComfort and colour...definitely!
ReplyDeleteKey components :)
DeleteI love your tattoos! And I like lots of color, brightness and comfort. So many sports bras I wear for decency just aren't comfy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Erin!
DeleteThe glycerin shorts are some of my favorite shorts! I have them in black and in grey. Weather dependent, I might wear the black ones to my race on Saturday. I also have the low rise versatile shorts in teal/orange. They are fun, I like the "old school" style of them.
ReplyDeleteI need to get some of the pants too! I do love how comfy they are!
DeleteI love the purple too!! Those look awesome. Comfort and fit are a must for me. New workout clothes are the best.
ReplyDeleteThey're definitely encouragement to workout! ;)
DeleteGreat job with the chicking girl! You are so cute in your workout apparel! Must have for me is my running skirt! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Mindy!
DeleteLove Brooks! Those shorts and sports bra look so comfy! I am in need of some Spring apparel and I love to look for clothes that are comfy yet unique.
ReplyDeleteI love how lightweight their apparel (the non-winter stuff) is! Perfect for Florida aka Africa!
DeleteI never run in shorts because they don't fit me right, with your description though I might have to give these a try!
ReplyDeleteUsually they bunch in my legs or don't feel right but I love both of these shorts!
DeleteI wonder how the bra would work with big busts; I haven't found one that I can wear without doubling up yet. I love your lotus flower tattoo (thats what it is right?). And I'm always in the market for some shorts that don't ride up while running- you can never have enough of those.
ReplyDeleteI wear the C/D version of the Infiniti bra (It comes in A/B too) and it works well! There's High and maximum support choices on their website ;)
DeleteThose shorts look comfy!
ReplyDeleteThese look awesome. Love the look of the crop. And the shorts seem uber comfy.
ReplyDeleteI'm all about the fit, and lots of colour!
comfort is key!
Deleteoh fun, I think I need to try out the bra!
ReplyDeleteI love my purple one!
DeleteThose shorts look amazingly comfortable! The brighter the better when it comes to my running outfits. And yes I like chicking boys. :0)
