I have to admit that this year I was very blessed to get many of the 'fit things' I wanted throughout the year like my iPad and new shoes and outfits that hubs found for me here and there. Since my birthday is in December (Yes, I'm turning 22 again.. I lost count of how many times I've turned 22 lol... Monday - oh yeah!) it's kind of hard because I know that birthday gifts and Christmas gifts get kind of meshed together, which is no biggie - us December babies are used to it. I told hubs to not go overboard ... he jumped for joy.
We all know how very hard it is to come up with Christmas gift ideas....for ourselves ;) For that fit chick... or guy...in your life, are you having trouble coming up with ideas that they'll love? You're in luck because I made a hefty list for Santa and he's given me the okay to share the knowledge with my readers!
Yes, he also asked that I come back down to Earth.
Shoes: I have my favorites - those are Brooks. You can also take your loved one to a shoe store to get properly fitted for shoes so that they can find the style and type that works best for them whether they be a runner, circuit trainer, crossfitter, etc.
Portable Water bottle / Camelbak: When I started running farther I decided to give carrying a portable water bottle a shot. I'm sure glad I did! During races it makes it easier to not stop and to ensure you have proper hydration along the way. Whether it be for running, hiking, or walking, a portable water bottle or Camelbak is the perfect thing!
Headbands: Whether you're a gal with hair you want out of your face, or a dude with luxurious locks, headbands rock! Sparkly Soul makes great 'blingy' headbands for adding a little dazzle to an ensemble.
Attire: Everyone has their favorite brands, so there's a lot of variety you can put into new running outfits for someone! You can't forget about awesome compression gear from Zensah & Pro Compression - compression love = recovery! I just got a few Team Sparkle running skirts and let me tell you how fun they are to wear - easy to wear as well! AND we all know that new clothes for working out always helps to encourage us to hit the gym or go for a run...we're divas, all of us.
Portable Video cameras: These are a bit more expensive, but what fun?! My pal Courtney used a GoPro camera during Pretty Muddy and the video of her going through the course is awesome! What funner way to record your races or events to look back on down the road!
Socks: My favorite socks, for any type of work out, are Balegas - they are synthetic, comfy, and protect my feet from blisters when running! New socks will show the one you love that you care about their feets. And that is a big deal.
iTunes giftcards: My pal PavementRunner knows the importance of good tunes when running and working out - no one has to hear you jiving to DJ Jazzy Jeff, so enjoy it! I prefer to use iTunes giftcards vs my credit card info when buying music online, but also you can get great deals at places like Target - they will sometimes have 3 $10 giftcards in a pack for $25 total.
Watch to measure heartrate/distance, etc: I have a Garmin, his name is Dwayne. I love him. He's just been used way too much and his band keeps tearing - and he's like having a laptop on my baby wrist. Hubs just surprised me with my early birthday present: a new pink Forerunner 10! I'm testing it out today! Some folks love their Polar watches - there are all kinds of heartrate and running watches you can choose from. Depending on what everyone wants, the perfect one IS out there!
The list can go on and on I'm sure!
