So, today I thought about how many great new peeps I've met over the past few months or so. We all have a lot in common around fitness, girl talk, husbands (aka grown children), and being foodies.
There are some things all people I know don't necessarily know about me so I thought I'd open up...take a deep breath...and share. (well, not really, I won't put ALL of my dirt out there ;)
1) I used to hate water and it's all I drink now. Before I started my fit journey I used to drink the crap out of some Koolaid and Soda! (keepin' it real..and keepin' it hood!) Once I stopped and started to drink water, I dropped LBs immediately.
2) I graduated with a degree in Graphic Art and Design. The art part people get, the graphics part not so much. I graduated a month after 9/11, go figure why the market didn't pick up. Now I just stick to contemporary art (it's cheaper and easier to paint and draw pretty pictures ;)
3) I am lactose intolerant. TMI I know! But yea, this is why I avoid icecream and stick to fro yo and also drink almond milk instead of regular. No playing funny tricks on me now!
4) When I'm alone, I sing to myself when I run. If I don't have company to chat with I sing. It's so I make sure I keep an even pace and breathe right. And so I can serenade the woodland creatures of my running routes.
5) I've done 10 5ks and just started longer distances this year. Call me stubborn...call me apprehensive. After November, call me a half marathoner ;)
6) I grind my teeth in my sleep. I have no idea why...and have done nothing to rectify the situation. Hubs just wakes me (yelling at me), I mumble, and go back to sleep. So much for PJ parties, eh?
7) I don't have cable/TV. Yep, haven't had it for almost 5 years. I cut it out to save money and now it's just what I'm used to. I watch movies or shows. Most of the time I'm too busy! Plus, if ESPN were in the house, would I even have a husband??
8) I have a fear of drowning. Which is why I'll do a duathalon (once I get my tri bike, which will be soon!) but am very apprehensive about a tri .. but my tri friends TRY to get me to want to do a tri....
9) I hate anything mint/mint flavored. Gives me a headache. I know, I'm a weirdo.
10) I love me some Britney! Mostly for run-song purposes. But I have never shown my Britney, nor would I ever!

ReplyDeleteI'm still on my soda fix...can't kick it 100%, love Mountain Dew too much.
And I grind my teeth too...bought a pack of two mouth guards from WalMart for $30. The dentist wanted my $500 also. But it's very discreet...and saving my teethers!
These are fun! I cut out soda for a long time too, but then one day I drank it again and have one every few days or at least once or twice a week. I tend to get one when I'm stressed out. Strange, I know. I'll occasionally I sing to myself running, but I always get afraid someone is going to hear me, so I don't do it much. And I'm so excited to follow along in your half marathon training journey! You're going to do great. I read your post about the 15k, and it seems like you learned a ton from that! Plus the Women's should be significantly cooler than Gasparilla!
